Mark Thompson is bestselling coauthor of Success Built to Last, the sequel to Built to Last and in 2009 edited two new books released by Harvard Business Press/Fifty Lessons: Crisis as Opportunity and Weathering the Storm. Mark is also author of The Day I Blew Up the Factory with Jack Welch, Women on Leadership, and Seven Sacred Promises with Maya Angelou.

Mark is a Visiting Scholar at his alma mater, Stanford University, and also served on the faculty of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and the R.W. Advanced Investment Advisor program at the University of Chicago. He is creator and host of the Leaders of the New Century Series with public broadcasting and with Peter Drucker's Leader to Leader Institute in New York. The program features inspiring insights from Mark's interviews with thought leaders in nonprofit, for profit and commercial organizations. Reporting directly to Charles "Chuck" Schwab until 2000, Mark Thompson was SVP of the Schwab Client Experience and Chief Communications Officer for five million client accounts with over $800 billion in client assets.
